About Tora-Con Club Collaborations
One of the things that makes Tora-Con unique from other anime conventions is that we are student-run on a college campus. This allows us to work with other student clubs and organizations at RIT to bring unique content to Tora-Con and help them showcase their talents to our many visitors each year.
What do clubs receive for participating in Tora-Con?
RIT clubs and organizations that help with Tora-Con typically receive either discounted or free weekend badges for that year. It depends on the actual ending agreement between Tora-Con and the specified club. We also provide clubs with a special “Thank You” page in our Guidebook as well as post their logo and information on our website.
What do clubs provide when participating in Tora-Con?
RIT Clubs and organizations that are interested in participating in Tora-Con’s club collaboration program for 2026 will need to be able to provide some kind of programming or content that aligns with our target audience’s interest. Programming from clubs that we’ve seen in the past include performances (Cosplay Chess and the Yishu x Wadaiko Showcase), ongoing events (ACS Maid Cafe and EGS & RWAG & FGC Game Room), and tables or tabled events (RIT Metalworks Club’s Dealer’s Hall table and RIT Pokemon Club’s Gym Challenge).
We are open to new suggestions on programming that your club would like to provide. All RIT clubs and organizations that are interested in participating in our club collaboration program needs to make sure that they have been in contact with us about the terms of their participation. Just because your club has filled out our panels application, does not mean that you are automatically guaranteed participation.
How can my club participate in Tora-Con?
For clubs and organizations interested in participating in Tora-Con 2026 that have worked with us as part of our club collaboration program in 2025, please wait for us to reach out to you. This initial reach-out should happen by mid-November. If you don’t hear from us by the beginning of December, please reach out to our info email.
For clubs and organizations interested in participating in Tora-Con 2026 that did not work with us in 2025, please reach out to our info email.
While we always love the opportunity to work with new partners, we cannot always guarantee space. Priority will be given to those we’ve worked with in the past as well as those whose programming we believe best aligns with our interests. Your RIT-affiliated club does not have to take part in our club collaboration program to participate in Tora-Con, however, we’d highly recommend it.
What if my club is not affiliated with RIT?
We always love the chance to work with new groups, even those not affiliated with RIT. Please reach out to us with more information about your club or organization and the programming that you would hope to provide. Depending on the circumstance, you may be able to become a sponsor. Sponsors don’t just provide Tora-Con with monetary support, they also help us put on new and unique programs for our attendees each year. Those not eligible for club collaboration or sponsorships can still submit a panels application for their event. If your event requires additional support, be sure to reach out to us so we can make sure your event receives that support.
